As our society grows older, we are faced with the challenge of adapting to these new circumstances. According to a study by the United Nations, one out of four people in Germany will be older than 65 by the year 2030. Although most people at that age are still capable of their everyday chores, but not everybody can maintain their physical and mental abilities on a high level as they grow older. Someone needs to take care of them. For these people a wide range of programs is offered in institutions all over Germany, with competent staff, quality standards and comprehensive service. The goal is to help them maintain their independency as long as possible.

"Seniorenheim ELIM Bonn e.V. ", was founded in 1969 and has been a charitable organization ever since. We offer 91 care places (55 single- and 18 double rooms) with bright, modern equipment. The building is located right in the middle of the northern district of the beautiful city of Bonn. We live in accordance with the biblical "ELIM"-leitmotif and work together in a kind, familiar way. We offer comprehensive support, excellent kitchen services and up-to-date nursing support with individual reference persons as well as pastoral care.

The Sozialwerk der Freien Christengemeinde Bremen was founded in 1979 with a help and support program offered right in the founder's private home. In 1982 the Heimstätte am Grambker See onened as the Sozialwerk's first larger facility, a pilot scheme in the context of psychiatric care. Within a few years many other areas of work were opened up. According to the slogan "Care for each other" various programs and social services are offered today for senior citizens, people with psychological diseases, children and youths, as well as unique programs in the field of education and health. The Sozialwerk offers social training in various areas, a voluntary year of social service (FSJ), discipleship training and an orientation year for peope looking to work in the field pofessionally.

In 1969 the senior centre was founded by a group of people from different churches. We offer 38 apartments in the form of a resident care home. The nursing home provides 78 beds for elderly people. In addition, there is a specialized facility with 13 single rooms for people suffering from dementia.

The Seniorenzentrum EMMAUS is located in the black forest community Haiterbach-Beihingen with its 900 inhabitants. 73 senior citizens are taken care of and looked after in its longterm-, shortterm- and day-care facilities. The two nursing homes as well as the new apartment complex for people suffering from dementia have generous, bright and air-conditioned lounges, where people get together every day. In the immediate neighbourhood there is a nursing home with 17 senior apartments. Each one offers programs and events which all residents can attend. In addition, food can be bought at a nearby grocery store, which also offers a delivery service. The Seniorenzentrum Emmaus is a recognized employee for young people dong a year of civil service or a voluntary social year (FSJ).
